My career has always been deeply intertwined with my passion for travel and adventure – and with 20 years of corporate experience in marketing and communication, I've always gone out of my way to ensure that I don't get stuck in a rut.
But working for somebody else was never my passion. I always gave 100% and developed successful campaigns, resulting in happy and satisfied customers, and I had some incredible opportunities and exposure over the years which I'm very grateful for. BUT... I wasn't interested in playing the ladder-climbing game because I was more interested in landing the new job in Prague in a new industry over winning the internal promotion – and I wasn't driven by money. And some of my bosses really shat me.
AND I knew that ultimately, owning my own respected marketing company and working with dream clients was the end goal. And so with those boxes ticked...here I am!

BALDMAN is co-created by me and my husband James. James' big shiny bald head is the inspiration behind the name and awesome logo we designed! The idea came about because we have complementary skills and wanted to set up our own business focused on awesome results-driven marketing. But for a business to succeed, there obviously needs to be a hell of a lot more than just an impulse. We knew how passionate we would both be when it came to delivering the goods to our clients because when you set up your own business, and your name and livelihood is attached to it, there's a whole new level of commitment, drive and passion that surges to the forefront.
Time management.... still is to some degree really! Setting up a business has sooo many pieces and putting those pieces together takes a lot of effort and skill and confusion and time. Building out our SOPs was also a rather large and crucial task to get right.
BALDMAN CONSULTING originally offered sales training and business consulting. We quickly realised specialisation is key. our business has a super strong reputation in Facebook Ads management.

Facebook can be a fickle creature. Dealing with ads being disapproved for an incorrect reason is always rather painful.
That we run tight production schedules and we need our clients to adhere to this schedule. And marketing should be viewed as an investment. Our job is to bring more you leads, conversions, sales, brand awareness and so forth. We are supporting you to build your business and as such, we are an ASSET to your organisation.
As a new business venture, we have some ideas around an e-comm store. Secret squirrels for now though!
Bots! Bots! Bots!
Get a mentor. Work on your mindset. Surround yourself with people on the same journey as you. These things are so important to keeping you sane and on track! Setting up your own business is HARD WORK at the beginning. Truly, it is quite the slog and a rollercoaster ride! Turning up to a 9-5 job is sooo much easier because you are spoon-fed what to do. Here's your client, heres the task, here's your desk, your computer. Get cracking! When you start your own business, you are not only responsible for the core offerings of your business, but also biz dev, accounts, procedures, hiring staff and the list goes on.
But the rewards of running your own business, and being your own boss, and the highs and freedom and soul-soaring satisfaction makes it all worthwhile!
Establish rapport. Manage their expectations. Under promise and over deliver.
I always love when we land another dream client. Major high fives all round. But to be honest, I'm most excited about getting to the point where I'm truly able to step back.
